My Why and The Story to Follow
Understanding the Algorithm grew out of a deep-seated love for teaching and a real wish to help my community feel at home in the digital age. I have always believed that the gadgets and apps we use should give us more freedom, not more stress. That is why I started this journey: to make sure that as you go online, you feel confident and capable instead of confused or overwhelmed.
Where Our Journey Began
Understanding the Algorithm was born from a passion for education, empowerment, and helping others feel confident in the digital world we live in today. As technology continues to evolve, I began noticing just how much of our daily lives are shaped by digital platforms, social media, artificial intelligence, and online algorithms—yet so many people are never taught how these systems actually work. We interact with technology constantly, often without realizing how much it influences the information we consume, the decisions we make, and the way we navigate the world around us. I knew there was a growing need for accessible education that helps people better understand the online spaces they engage with every day.
Using Media Strategy for Good
My personal journey toward creating this company began with my educational background and deep interest in communications, media, and digital strategy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, where I developed a strong understanding of branding, media influence, consumer behavior, and the psychology behind communication. Throughout my studies, I became fascinated by the ways companies, platforms, and digital systems shape messaging and impact audience behavior. This curiosity led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Digital Media, where I expanded my knowledge of emerging technologies, digital communication, online strategy, and the ever-changing digital landscape.
Directly Bridging the Gap
I realized that many of the topics being taught in higher education and professional spaces, such as algorithms, digital footprints, cybersecurity, etc., were not being translated into practical, digestible information for everyday individuals. There was a disconnect between the complexity of the digital world and the average person’s understanding of it. I wanted to bridge that gap. My goal is to make digital literacy approachable, engaging, and empowering by breaking down complex topics into educational resources that are easy to understand and relevant to modern life. Whether someone is learning how algorithms affect what they see online or simply wants to become more informed, I want this platform to serve as a trusted guide in that journey.
